I have decided to offer different blank note cards each January, using some of my favorite mosaic designs from the previous year. The note cards released this year are: "Out To Haul" I grew up on an island off the coast of Maine. I wanted to create a mosaic that reminded me of days spent on the water, hauling traps and catching lobsters. The seafoam color sparkles and the fractures remind me of squinting through the water as the traps are pulled up. The red glass has lots of varying colors, all of which I have seen in a real lobster. The brown edging represents rope, and the white the foam of the seawater. I am happy to say this mosaic found a home on the same island I went lobstering on. "Sunset Reflection" I enjoy hiking and watching the sunset. How do I watch the sunset on the East Coast? That is one bonus of island living, you can capture beautiful sunrises over the ocean, as well as sunsets. I used to enjoy standing on the cliffs of the lighthouse and watching the sunset. It was always a time of deep thought. I started this as the new year was approaching, and with a new year comes reflection and goal setting, both personally and professionally. This seemed like a fitting mosaic to finish in the new year. "Mermayde's Dawn" This mosaic was a commissioned piece, inspired by the client's granddaughter who sits on the rocks outside her grandmother's home; reminding her of a mermaid. From their home they enjoy beautiful sunrises, often with a pink mackerel sky. These cards are available for sale now. They are $5 each or 3 for $12, and that includes shipping within the US. They come in a protective plastic sleeve. Front/Back
